Mentor selection
Depending on the track, students will engage in either lab rotations or shadowing experiences to allow for meaningful interactions with faculty and facilitate the choice of a thesis advisor.
Research Track
Students will select and rotate through the labs of three potential faculty to facilitate the selection of a permanent advisor. Students will register for ANA 7996 to receive credit for their lab rotations as part of their research course.
Education Track
Students will select at least four faculty instructors to shadow during the Fall semester and a minimum of three faculty instructors to shadow in the Winter semester. This experience is expected to assist in the selection of a permanent advisor.
Students will consult with the program director to determine the number of credits, which will vary according to the student's schedule. The final advisor selection must be completed during the second semester that the student enters the program.
